Come and experience the Rastafarian way of life when you visit their Indigenous Village located in Port Bello Montego Bay. You can learn about their history, culture, philosophy, and the lifestyle of their movement that started in Jamaica and has become an international symbol of the island. A nature tour will start your visit through the tropical woodlands and across a low river. You will be greeted with a welcome drink and be invited to try in season Jamaican fruits and vegan foods that are prepared in the community.

You’ll learn about Rastafarian life including the principles of living in harmony with nature and the role of Heillie Selassie, with the chef gives a tour of the village kitchen, showing the vegetables, herbs, and spices used in Rastafarian cooking, showing the nutritional and culinary importance of each ingredient.

You’ll be lead through the village herb library where your guide will explain the medicinal properties of the many herbs grown there and see those which scientists are beginning to investigate for their use in scientific remedies. The tour will end on a musical note with a traditional drum and chanting session in the center of the village.
